Pete Meier WK8S

My name is Pete Meier and I have been a licensed Amateur Radio Operator since 1979.

I was first Licensed in 1979 as WD8MFP and upgraded to Extra Class as WK8S in 1981.

CW has been my preferred mode and have always been a QRP enthusiast.

I joined the Michigan QRP Club in December of 1992 and my member number is #1127.

I was elected as a Director somewhere around 2008 give or take a few years.

My role as a MI QRP Club official is one I have always been proud of, active in, and passionate about.

Other clubs I belong to include New England QRP Club, Colorado QRP Club, Amateur Radio International QRP Club, NAQCC and SKCC.

I have always enjoyed building electronics circuits and radio kits.

My first kit was a Heathkit HW 101 transceiver which I built in 1980 and countless more in the following years.

Close friends know I like to buy and sell radios, a lot! It’s been my way to afford to try every radio I can.
My entire professional working career has been in Computer IT.I moved to Manitou Springs, Colorado in 2011 then retired at the end of 2015.Previously I lived in Waterford, Michigan.Today I still enjoy building electronics and have added programming in Arduino (C and C++).
